It’s now being rumoured that the upcoming Black Panther spinoff series could be based around the Dora Milaje. This rumour comes to us from Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity.
It has been revealed by Deadline that Coogler had signed an exclusive 5-year television deal with Disney Plus. Coogler will be making these Black Panther spinoff series with his company, Proximity Media whom he runs with Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Ludwig Göransson, Archie Davis and Peter Nicks.
Coogler is currently re-writing the Black Panther sequel. He’s had to make some changes due to the unfortunate loss of Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman. He will be missed.

The Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-female special forces from Black Panther, are being developed to have their own Disney Plus series. Sources indicate they are among the Marvel projects Black Panther co-writer/director Ryan Coogler has lined up for the streamer. Led by Okoye (Danai Gurira), the Dora Milaje are tough, elite female bodyguards. They were among the highlights of Black Panther. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige saw their commercial potential in the film as a possible spin-off.
