People have been wondering who’ll be taking over the mantle as the Black Panther in Black Panther 2. Well, some new leaks have seemingly revealed who’ll be the new Black Panther in Black Panther 2 (Wakanda Forever) following Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death.

So, I’m pretty sure you can guess where this new leak came from. Yep. You guessed it! Lego! New Lego sets for the upcoming movie have been leaked online, and they reveal who’ll be taking over the mantle as the Black Panther in the upcoming sequel.

So, can you guess who’s going to be the new Black Panther? Well, before we reveal that bit of information, I wanted to go over some of the rumours that were swirling around the Internet.

People were of the belief that either Letitia Wright’s Shuri would become the new Black Panther, and then others were saying that it would be Winston Duke’s M’Baku. There were also some people that believed Marvel should recast T’Challa.

This was something that I never agreed with because I do not believe that would have honoured Chadwick Boseman’s time playing the role. If anything, it would have indicated that Marvel just wanted to move on. I believe that the decision they took is the correct one, both for Boseman’s memory and for the story they want to tell.

I’ve embedded the Instagram post which shows the new Lego set that’s revealing that Letitia Wright’s Shuri will be the new Black Panther in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The Lego figurine in question is of the movie’s new Black Panther, and you can clearly see that it’s Shuri in the now-iconic Black Panther costume. So, this indicates that T’Challa’s sister, Shuri will be the one taking up the mantle of the Black Panther in the new movie.

This will be an interesting twist in the story, and it’s also one that many people thought Marvel should tell. Shuri has been the Black Panther before in the comics, and it just makes sense for T’Challa’s sister to step up and become the new Black Panther and save Wakanda from whatever threat is facing them in this upcoming film.

It does seem as though the threat in question will be coming from Namor, who’s the ruler of Atlantis in the comics. However, it’s been suggested that Atlantis might not be referenced by name in the movie because of DC’s Aquaman having pipped Marvel to that particular post.

However, I did want to go over why some people felt that it wouldn’t be right to have Letitia Wright become the new Black Panther. It all has to do with some online drama that the actress was involved in some months back.

During the height of the pandemic, Wright shared a video on her Twitter account which was spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine. People got very annoyed with her for it and she ended up leaving Twitter over the whole thing.

It was then alleged that she was trying to convince people on the set of Black Panther 2 not to get the vaccine. These reports were later said to be false by Wright’s representation. However, people are still claiming that it did happen and that Wright shouldn’t be the one to become Marvel’s new Black Panther because of these controversies and her views on COVID-19 and vaccines.

I don’t know what to think, and all I care about is that Chadwick Boseman’s great work as the MCU’s Black Panther remains untarnished.
