What’s happening with the Black Adam, which is supposedly starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson? There’s been very little news about the movie, until now that is.
People have been hoping to learn about what’s going on, and it looks like the movie’s star, Dwayne Johnson, may have let some information about the film’s release date slip.
A fan wrote on Twitter: “I was so excited for @TheRock to play #BlackAdam that I sculpted him as the character in 1/5 scale.”
Incredibly, The Rock retweeted this tweet with the following comment: “Very cool man, thank you. Amazing detail. This project has been with me for over 10yrs. Production begins this July. Appreciate the support.”

This means that Black Adam will finally start filming in 2020, and it’s about time. The character was referenced in Shazam! and I’ve been really looking forward to seeing Dwayne Johnson bring the character to the big screen.
He’s perfect for the role. It’s been rumoured that Black Adam will feature Hawkman, and Johnson has compared his character to that of an anti-hero.
“Black Adam, how he starts, he starts off as a villain,” Johnson told ComicBook.com back in July.
He continued: “Then, he becomes an anti-hero. And then he might become a hero or he might not.”
However, a producer on Black Adam, Hiram Garcia, had slightly more to say about the film, saying: “But ultimately this is a guy who he does have a moral compass as skewed as it may be.
Black Adam will be a dark DCEU movie

He continued: “And ultimately he is a guy that everything has always been driven by his family and what happens to them. And he is never opposed to unleashing hell when you cross him.
“So I think when you add in those elements of that DNA, those are things we’re very aware of,” Hiram finished.
Johnson also revealed that Black Adam will kill people in the movie and that the movie will feature a complex and gritty character, a bit like Dirty Harry.
“I’ll share this one little tidbit with you, [director Jaume Collet-Serra] wants to create the Dirty Harry of superheroes,” The Rock said.
This all sounds very interesting to me, and after the success of Joker, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Pictures might be more willing to let them do a darker movie.
