Doing these lists is tough. First off, you have to think about everything you’ve watched during the year, then you have to try and come up with the best of everything you’ve seen. But I managed it and I came up with the ten best TV shows of 2019.
2019 was actually a very good year as far as television was concerned. There were loads of new TV shows in 2019 that wowed viewers, and some returning ones which really got people talking.
I suppose one of the biggest television events of 2019 was Game of Thrones Season 8, which turned out to be a bit rubbish, but then there were new shows to make up for HBO’s botched Game Of Thrones ending.
There were the likes of Chernobyl, Watchmen, Barry Season 2, Big Little Lies Season 2 and His Dark Materials.
However, it’s virtually impossible to watch absolutely everything that comes out on television in one year, especially nowadays.
Which are the best TV shows of 2019?

We are literally inundated with new TV content every day thanks to all the streaming services we’re subscribed to these days.
we have Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu and now Disney Plus and Apple TV Plus. It’s all a bit too much and it makes it hard to stay on top of things.
So, this upcoming list will definitely have some huge holes where the likes of Chernobyl, Succession and Unbelievable should be.
I just didn’t have the time to watch them all, but I did watch a lot of TV in 2019.
So, here are the best TV shows of 2019 according to Small Screen.
10. The Witcher Season 1
9. Russian Doll Season 1
8. The Mandalorian Season 1
7. Casa De Papel Season 3
6. The Good Place Season 4
5. Stranger Things Season 3
4. Last Week Tonight With John Oliver Season 6
3. Jack Ryan Season 2
2. Mindhunter Season 2
1. Watchmen Season 1
So there you have it. Watchmen Season 1 (although it’s looking like there won’t be a Season 2, sadly) was our favourite show of 2019, and it was a dam good season of television.
Damon Lindelof really outdid himself with his new show which was a follow-up to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ original graphic novel.
Of course, as I mentioned earlier, there are some obvious omissions from this list.
I do have some honourable mentions such as Killing Eve Season 2 and Rick & Morty Season 4.
However, I also didn’t get the chance to watch shows such as Chernobyl, Succession, Big Little Lies, Unbelievable and of course, Fleabag, which is a huge omission on my behalf.
