Ben Affleck Teases He’d Like To Play Batman Again

It seems as though Ben Affleck wants to play Batman again after having nailed the character in the upcoming The Flash movie! He revealed this during a recent interview on a pretty popular podcast, and I have to say that I would love to see him play the iconic DC superhero again.

There has been a lot of talk about Ben Affleck’s future in the DC Universe. Will he keep on playing the Dark Knight after The Flash movie? Could Ben Affleck get to direct a film for DC Studios?

These are all questions that DC fans have been asking online for quite some time. The only real response we’ve had was from DC Studios’ co-CEO, James Gunn, who revealed that they did have a chat with Affleck and were interested in seeing him direct a movie for the DC Universe.

However, Affleck stated in an interview that he wasn’t interested in directing a film for DC Studios, but he could have been lying. Who knows

However, it seems as though Affleck has caught the Batman bug again after having returned to play the character in Andy Muschietti’s Flash movie. He revealed that he finally nailed the character in The Flash movie during an interview on the podcast, Smartless. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

You know what, that movie’s [The Flash] good, (…) and it’s my best shit I’ve done as Batman. I’ve finally figured out how to play the guy. I got it! I was like ‘hold on, I know I quit, and I know I came back to it, but I got it now!’ It’s like, you know when you do the audition and you’re on your way home and you’re like ‘no!’.

Affleck then talked about the scene in which he stars alongside Gal’s Wonder Woman in The Flash movie. Here’s what he had to say about that particular scene:

I don’t want to give a spoiler, but it was a scene where I get caught, I get saved by Wonder Woman during a configuration with some bad guys, and she saves me – I’m sure like the’ spoiler DC assassins’ are going to get me – but she saves me with the Lasso of Truth, and what happens is Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life, and his work.

One of the hosts of the podcast, Jason Bateman, then teases that Affleck wants another chance to play Batman, and Affleck then jokes:

I was like, ‘wait a minute, I got it! Am I still…? Wait, can I…? Guys…? It’s the story of my fucking life.

So, it sounds like this is going to be a really cool scene between Batman and Wonder Woman in the movie, and it also sounds as though Affleck wants another shot at playing Batman.

The Flash movie is going to be released in theatres in the United States and in the United Kingdom on June 16th.
