Ben Affleck has recently spoiled a pretty key scene between Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the upcoming The Flash movie, which is coming out later this year. Affleck has been chatting a lot about his time playing Batman in Andy Muschietti’s upcoming DC Studios movie.
A lot’s been written over the past few months and maybe even years about Ben Affleck’s time as Batman. Has it come to an end? Will he get to play Batman again in the movies. Is Ben Affleck going to get to make his Batman movie? Is there a Batman series in the works…?
These have all been questions that fans of Affleck’s take on the Dark Knight have been asking online. There have been a few articles from not-so-reputable websites claiming that he was going to be returning in his own movie or TV show. However, it seems as though those reports weren’t quite ‘on the money’.

That said, we now know that we will be getting to see ‘Batfleck’ back in the upcoming Flash movie, which is terrific news. We saw brief snippets of him as Bruce Wayne and Batman in The Flash’s first trailer.
Affleck then revealed in a previous interview that he was only going to be in five minutes of the movie. However, he also stated that he’s finally been able to crack the character. It’s only taken him three movies to do so (four if you count his brief cameo in 2016’s Suicide Squad). Affleck first played Bruce in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
He played him yet again in Joss Whedon’s 2017 Justice League movie, and then came back to reshoot some scenes as Batman for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Well, it seems as though he finally nailed it in Muschietti’s upcoming Flash movie. However, I’ve always felt that he’s pretty much nailed the role every time he played him.
Do you think Affleck wants to play Batman again?

Affleck reiterated this during a recent interview on the Smartless podcast. However, that’s not all he said about his performance in the upcoming movie. Affleck also spoiled a pretty cool-sounding scene in the film between his Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.
Until this point, we didn’t know whether Gadot was going to be in the movie or not. But Affleck let the cat out of the bag. Here’s what he had to say about The Flash movie:
You know what, that movie’s [The Flash] good, (…) and it’s my best shit I’ve done as Batman. I’ve finally figured out how to play the guy. I got it! I was like ‘hold on, I know I quit, and I know I came back to it, but I got it now!’ It’s like, you know when you do the audition and you’re on your way home and you’re like ‘no!’.

Affleck then talked about the scene in which he stars alongside Gal’s Wonder Woman in The Flash movie. Here’s what he had to say about that particular scene:
I don’t want to give a spoiler, but it was a scene where I get caught, I get saved by Wonder Woman during a configuration with some bad guys, and she saves me – I’m sure like the’ spoiler DC assassins’ are going to get me – but she saves me with the Lasso of Truth, and what happens is Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life, and his work.
One of the hosts of the podcast, Jason Bateman, then teases that Affleck wants another chance to play Batman, and Affleck then jokes:
I was like, ‘wait a minute, I got it! Am I still…? Wait, can I…? Guys…? It’s the story of my fucking life.
So, it sounds like this is going to be a really cool scene between Batman and Wonder Woman in the movie, and it also sounds as though Affleck wants another shot at playing Batman.
The Flash is set to be released in theatres in the United States and the United Kingdom on June 16th, 2023.
