It’s been revealed by one of Batwoman’s showrunners that they are never going to erase Kate Kane from the show, which is nice to hear.
There’s been so much speculation about what’s going to happen to Kate Kane following Ruby Rose’s exit from the show.
He left the show very unexpectedly, and there’s now going to be a huge Rose-shaped hole in the show.
This has lead to people wondering whether the character will be recast or replaced by a new character.
There have been rumours that Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz might be up for the role, which I love.
Anyway, one of Batwoman’s showrunners, Caroline Dries has shared a statement in which she revealed that they weren’t going to erase Kate Kane from the show.

She posted this statement via her Twitter account, and here’s what she wrote in the statement:
As a lesbian who’s been working as a writer for the past fifteen years, I’m well aware of the ‘Bury Your Gays’ trope and I have no interest in participating in it. My comments about recasting Batwoman have launched a storm of rumours and misinformation and I wanted to clarify something. Like you, I love Kate Kane – she’s the reason I wanted to do the show. We’ll never erase her. In fact, her disappearance will be one of the mysteries of season two. I don’t want to give away any of our surprises, but to all our devoted fans, please know that LGBTQ+ justice is at the very core of what Batwoman is and we have no intention of abandoning that.
Hopefully, they’ll stick to this and end up honouring the memory of Kate Kane moving forward.
