Aubrey Plaza’s character in Marvel’s Agatha: Coven Of Chaos could possibly be more powerful than Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.
Back in November 2022, it was announced that The White Lotus actress and comedian will be joining Kathryn Hahn in the WandaVision spinoff. It is interesting that her role was not announced. This means to us that her role must be very important to the show, and possibly the MCU in general.
Almost a month ago, it was revealed by actress Patti LuPone that Plaza would be playing a witch as a member of Agatha Harkness’ coven, which seems to be very fitting for Plaza.
We do presume that Aubrey Plaza has been looking forward to playing as a witch. She did write a couple of books with Dan Murphy titled The Legend of the Christmas Witch (2021) and The Return of the Christmas Witch (2022). She even wore witch costumes when promoting them on several talk shows like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Ellen, The View and possibly several others.
But who would Audrey Plaza’s character be, we wonder?

Recently @CanWeGetToast posted on Twitter that:
On paper, Aubrey Plaza’s character in #CovenofChaos should be stronger than even the Scarlet Witch

The animated GIF shows Elizabeth Olsen slapping Aubrey Plaza’s back. Plaza gave a subtle but happy smile looking at Olsen. While we can’t consider this as a completely serious post, however, it does make some people wonder which Marvel character Plaza might be playing, given this report that she’s more powerful than Scarlet Witch.
Since Plaza’s role hasn’t been officially announced, we presume this post is pretty much just speculation at best. Checking on the replies made for this post, many wondered what CanWeGetToast meant.

Stronger in what sense? Because a character can be stronger but not more powerful. I guess Morgan or Mephisto could be being stronger than Wanda for their knowledge, but does that mean they are more powerful?

What character that practices magic is even stronger than the Scarlet Witch in the comics cause I truly don’t know.
Some are also speculating which Marvel character Plaza would be playing. Who could be more powerful than the Scarlet Witch? Some are thinking of Mephisto, Chthon, Morgan La Fay, Cynthia Von Doom, or possibly even Death herself.
Let’s think about that for a second.
Could Aubrey Plaza More Than Just A Witch?

There have been reports that Sacha Baron Cohen will be playing the demon Mephisto in Ironheart. It’s been reported that Cohen would also be making a Mephisto Disney Plus Special just like Werewolf By Night. So, for now, it doesn’t make any sense that Plaza will be that particular Demon.
Chthon is an Elder God who was degenerated into a demon. The character does have the ability to use Chaos magic. So, that gives some connection to Scarlet Witch, while the character has been shown as male. So, will Plaza be a gender-swapped version of Chthon. The MCU is not new to gender-swapping characters, so this is not a surprise. The Ancient One, Ghost, Mar-Vell, Makkari, Sprite, Ajak, and, more recently, Cosmo have changed genders in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Plaza as Death would make her absolutely powerful since she is a cosmic being. But with that, why would she hide as a witch in Agatha’s coven?
Morgan La Fay is an interesting choice; she is an old witch, and she is a student of Merlin. She was considered a replacement for Doctor Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme. Because of this, her character is a good possible candidate for Aubrey Plaza to take the role.
Lastly, Cynthia Von Doom. I actually like this because she is the mother of Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. She is a Gypsy Witch who made a deal with Mephisto to save her people in exchange for her soul.
There are many more witches in the MCU that exist in Earth-616; add more when you consider the multiverse. But with that said, who do you think will Aubrey Plaza be playing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
