There’s a link to David Walliams in another of Ash Gaming’s big successes, Britain’s Got Talent. While it was the brainchild of the famous pop impresario Simon Cowell, Walliams has proven to be one of the most popular judges on the show, along with Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

It’s hard to believe, but the series first began in 2007 with the singer Paul Potts carrying off first prize.

Other winners who have gone on to wider fame include the dance group Diversity and the comedian Lost Voice Guy.

The first, Monty Python’s Spamalot, is influenced by the musical version of their Holy Grail film and includes lots of favourite scenes and characters from this comic look at medieval Britain.

But where they’ve really gone to town has been in their version of the controversial biblical epic, The Life of Brian.
