The film is set six years before the events of Army of the Dead.
Hired by the mysterious Gwendoline (Emmanuel), Dieter (Schweighöfer) must carry out numerous heist missions across Europe, aided by a ragtag crew of thieves.
Army of the Dead screenwriter Shay Hatten has returned to pen the script from a story written by Hatten and Zack Snyder.
In addition to starring in the film, Schweighöfer is also in the director’s chair.
With an Army of the Dead sequel confirmed to be in the works, it seems as though Netflix is surely hoping this will become a franchise for them.
