Avengers, assemble! Because you might just have a new leader in the new Captain America!
According to Geekosity, the role of the leader in The Avengers will be handed to Sam Wilson AKA Captain America.
If this report is true, it would be a perfect progression for this character.
Sam’s Captain America to fill leadership void left by departed Avengers?

When we first met Sam Wilson in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he was the badass known as The Falcon.
He played the role for four films, before being handed the iconic Captain America shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
Yet it was a mantle he was initially hesitant to take on, and the mantle was passed to John Walker.
Yet, as we saw in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) fought to win back Cap’s shield from the Government.
Wilson then assumed the mantle of Captain America.
A fourth Captain America film featuring Mackie in the lead role is in development, so it makes sense for him to take on a leadership role within The Avengers.
There is certainly a post Endgame leadership void following the deaths of both Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff.
Additionally, not to mention the retirement of Steve Rogers.
If Sam Wilson’s is the one of the Avengers who steps up to fill the void, we will not be complaining!
