Anthony Daniels has revealed that he’ll never retire from his Star Wars C-3PO role. However, he also added that he doesn’t think he’ll play the role again any time soon, which is a shame as far as I’m concerned.
He revealed this news during a recent interview with CinemaBlend, in which he said that the only way Lucasfilm would get rid of him would be if they threw him out the door. Honestly, I doubt they’ll ever do that to a legend like Daniels.
Anthony Daniels has been part of the Star Wars franchise since the very beginning. He first played C-3PO in the very first Star Wars movie, way back in 1977, and he’s been in every film in the franchise ever since.

Here’s what Anthony Daniels actually said about whether he’ll ever retire himself from the Star Wars franchise:
No, I’m never going to retire. They’re going to have to throw me out the door… Life is not over, the films, may be taking a back seat for ‘3PO, for a very very long time, I would think. But there’s all sorts of other media, particularly now with digital formats, that I’m so happy, and grateful and proud to be part of. And I do want to go on looking after ‘3PO because he needs looking after.
So, it sounds like Anthony Daniels will try to stick around the Star Wars franchise for as long as he can. Hopefully, we will get to see him play C-3PO again at some point in the future.
