There’s been so much written about Amber Heard and whether she’ll be in Aquaman 2 or not over the past few weeks. This started after Johnny Depp was asked to step down from the role of Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. There are some fans out there (a lot of them) who feel that Heard should also be removed from her big upcoming pictures, Aquaman 2.
We’ve just seen the petition to have her removed as Mera from Aquaman 2 has now just crossed 1 million signatures, making it one of the most signed petitions on Change.org. However, it looks like she’s not going to be removed from the project, and she’s just opened up about being really excited for filming the next movie.

Here’s what Amber Heard told EW in her recent interview:
I’m super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that Aquaman has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for Aquaman and Mera that it means we’ll be coming back. I’m so excited to film that.
She then went on to talk about those online petitions which are demanding that Warner Bros. Pictures have her removed from the picture. Here’s what she had to say:
Paid rumours and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality. Only the fans actually made Aquaman and Aquaman 2 happen. I’m excited to get started next year.
