It’s being reported that Amber Heard has had talks with Marvel Studios regarding the role of Susan Storm in the MCU. This rumour comes from Daniel Richtman who’s something of an industry insider.
However, I’m going to be brutally honest with this one – I don’t believe for one second that she’s ever going to get that role. There are myriad reasons why I’m dubious about Richtman’s claims here. The first one being, Heard is not a good fit for the Susan Storm role.
Now, I will be honest regarding Richtman’s ‘scoop’, he does say that Heard wants to play the role. Which is fine. However, I want to play Batman. It doesn’t mean I’ve ever going to get to portray the Dark Knight in a big Hollywood blockbuster.

Right, now on to reason two why I do not believe Amber Heard will ever be cast as Susan Storm in the MCU. She’s just too much baggage. The whole Johnny Depp court case hasn’t been great for Depp, but it’s not been good for Heard either.
Her reputation is suffering quite a bit after all those recordings between her and Depp were leaked. She doesn’t come out of them very well. There’s also the fact that there are a whole load of petitions out there calling for Heard to be fired from the DCEU. One of those petitions now has well over 1 million signatures.
That’s a lot of people who don’t like Amber Heard, and will not want to see her play Susan Storm. Finally, and this is the main reason why I think she’ll never play the role of Susan Storm, Emily Blunt is just too perfect for the role, and I’m pretty sure she’s already deep in talks with Marvel regarding the role.
