It’s being reported that Warner Bros is looking to recast Mera for Aquaman 2 which means that Amber Heard might be out of the film.
BUT, before I continue with this article, there has been an update from Amber Heard’s PR team.
A spokesperson for Ms Heard said the following:
The rumor mill continues as it has from day one — inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane.
However, this wouldn’t be the first time that an actor’s PR team has lied about the validity of a news story about their client.
Just Jared reported an insider told the outlet the following:
Warner Bros. decided to recast Amber Heard’s role after screentesting the movie. They are going to be doing reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.

That’s all that they were told and it does match up with our recent report in which we were informed that Warner Bros Pictures had looked at recasting the role.
We were told that Warner Bros executives were looking at bringing in Emilia Clarke to play Mera in Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.
One of the main reasons why Warner Bros executives were sure about having Heard in the sequel was because she and Jason Momoa had no chemistry in the first movie.
This news was then confirmed by DC Films’ President, Walter Hamada, who revealed that executives inside the company had been thinking of replacing Heard as Mera.
However, he also confirmed that they never actually auditioned any actors for the role.

We were actually told that no formal approach had been made by Warner Bros to Clarke to have her play Mera in the sequel.
Honestly, there have been so many reports recently about Amber Heard’s involvement in the movie.
Some people have been saying that she will be in the movie, and others have been saying that she won’t be.
One report even stated that Amber Heard’s time in the film has been doubled!
This contradicts what Ms Heard stated in court when she claimed that she was only going to be in the movie for about 10 minutes.
