There are rumours circling the Internet that Warner Bros. Pictures is thinking of removing Amber Heard as Mera in Aquaman 2.
Some outlets have even been reporting that they want to replace the actress and bring in someone new to play the role.
It’s not confirmed yet whether this is the case and Warner Bros. Pictures representatives declined to comment when I asked them about these rumours.
Honestly, it looks like there’s too much heat on Amber at the moment and I highly doubt Warner Bros. Pictures would want to enrage fans by keeping her in the sequel.
As it stands, the petition to have Amber Heard removed from the Aquaman sequel on Change.org has now reached over 275,000 signatures, which is mad.
That’s a lot of people who want Heard gone from Aquaman 2, and it’s too many people have Warner Bros. Pictured and DC Entertainment to ignore.
Now, they have three options. One, they can keep her on the project and try and ride the fans’ anger.
Two, they could sack her and just not have Mera be in the sequel.
Or three, they could replace her with another actress.

This wouldn’t be anything new as far as comic book movies are concerned.
Marvel Studios has already replaced a bunch of actors in their movies.
They brought in Don Cheadle to play War Machine in the MCU after Terrance Howard asked for too much money.
Marvel Studios also replaced Edward Nortan with Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner.
Fandral was played in the original Thor film by actor Josh Dallas.
However, due to his television commitments, Dallas couldn’t return for Thor: The Dark World, and he was replaced by Zachary Levi.

Then there’s Red Skull, who was originally played by Hugo Weaving in Captain America: The First Avengers, however, he was replaced by Ross Marquand in the recent Avengers movies.
So, yes. Actors have been replaced and recast in comic book movies, so why not do the same thing with Mera in Aquaman 2?
There are a whole host of wonderful actresses out there who could do a great job with the role.
I’m going to go over the ones I think would suit the role best, and hopefully one of them might end up playing Mera in Aquaman 2.
So, without further ado, here are the actors I believe should replace Amber Heard as Mera in Aquaman 2.
Emilia Clarke
Sophie Turner
Deborah Ann Woll
Karen Gillan
Isla Fisher
Emma Stone
Bridget Regan
Eleanor Tomlinson
Lilly Cole
Madelaine Petsch
Dianna Agron
Alicia Vikander
These are just a few potential actors who could play Mera and I think each of them would do a great job.
Some of them you might scoff at and think, “she would be terrible”, or “she wouldn’t look good with red hair”…
However, I honestly think each and every one of these actors would do a fine job as Mera in Aquaman 2.
That said, I did initially think Heard was a decent choice for the role.
Unfortunately for her, it’s looking like her time in the DCEU might be coming to a close.
What do you think? Who would you like to see replace Amber Heard as Mera in Aquaman 2?

Deborah Ann Moll….and of course fans would love an Amelia Clarke Jason Momoa reunion! Honestly as long as they recast!
Serinda Swan. Same height,2 years difference in age, and Serinda has the intensity needed for the part of Mera.
DEBORAH ANN WOLL is by far the best choice to replace Amber.
Emilia Clarke is the worst choice. She doesn’t look like Mera at all.
Scarlett Johansson?? I think she’d do a damn good job too…
[…] since it might be that Jason and Emilia could form that bond once again and make something happen. Edward Lauder of Small Screen has a list of actresses that might be able to replace Heard. But that’s going to have to wait […]

I’ll say EVERYONE could easily take Ambers place, she is NOT a good actor! She’s just a little insignificant girl who for far too long has lei on her back to get her will from the big and significant!
