Amber Heard’s former assistant has revealed that whilst she was working for Heard, the actress felt she was, as she put it, “above the law”.
Johnny Depp is currently suing The Sun newspaper in the UK for libel.
This is all down to the fact that The Sun’s entertainment journalist, Dan Wootton, labelled that actor a “wife-beater” in one of his articles.
The article was claiming that J.K. Rowling should have never had Depp rehired as Grindlewald in the Fantastic Beasts movie after the allegations made against him by his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Therefore, Depp is taking The Sun to court and this whole case and brought up a load of new facts about what went on behind the scenes between him and his ex-wife, Heard.
Heard’s former assistant, Kate James, has testified that the Aquaman actress broke the law to save her own skin.
Apparently, Heard asked James in September 2014 to send a letter to Homeland Security officials regarding an individual named Savannah McMillan.
Here;s what James wrote in a statement (via Deadline):
Savannah, a British citizen, had been held in immigration and questioned about the frequency that she had been coming and going from the USA. In Amber’s letter, she called it fraudulent that it was being alleged that Savannah was working for Amber unlawfully. She (Ms Heard) said that, as Savannah’s ‘friend,’ she could ‘say truthfully and unequivocally that this allegation is entirely false… I would like to go on the record saying that Savannah McMillan is a personal friend, and to my knowledge, has never worked unlawfully or otherwise in the United States. Or for me.’

James then alleged that she “knew this to be untrue”.
This means that Amber was “wilfully lying to the US immigration department.”
She then accompanied her statement with a photo of the letter and a paycheck from Heard to McMillan.
However, James then revealed that this isn’t the only time that Heard has done illegally.
She also deliberately smuggled dogs into Australia, ignoring James, Johnny Depp himself and the actor’s estate manager.
James then followed all this up by making the following statement:
As in several circumstances which I observed, it was as if she felt that she was above the law.
