Amber Heard is set to be in the upcoming Aquaman 2 movie (Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom). However, her agent has said that the first movie should have made her more “bankable”. She revealed this before the sequel was pushed and you can read what she had to say in full about her client below (via CinemaBlend).
WME agent Jessica Kovacevic was asked to talk about one of her clients, Amber Heard. This happened before Warner Bros. Pictures opted to move the film’s release date after the Johnny Depp defamation trial. During the conversation, the agent noted that Amber Heard’s career should have exploded after Aquaman was released, but it never really did. She’s played Mera in both the first Aquaman movie and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (albeit with a really bad British accent in that movie for some unknown reason).

Here’s what the agent had to say about her client:
Because typically when you have an actor in a movie as successful as that, as Aquaman was, their career total changes… they’re more bankable. With her, that did not happen.
It’s also been revealed that Heard is going to have a much smaller role in the Aquaman sequel. This was then confirmed by the agent, which I’m really surprised she did.
No one can say out loud, ‘We’re taking this away from her because of this bad press,’ because it’s nothing she did. It’s all hearsay, and it’s all whatever. But there’s no other reason.
Heard will still be playing Mera in the sequel

There’s been a lot written about Aquaman 2 and whether Heard will be in the movie or not. There were some rumours that Warner Bros was thinking of recasting the role. This was then confirmed by DC Films President, Walter Hamada during his deposition at the Johnny Depp defamation trial. However, he did also state that they didn’t audition any actors for the role.
That said, we were informed that Warner Bros and some of the movie’s executive producers were looking at Emilia Clarke to step into the role of the sequel. However, in the end, they ended up sticking with Heard, despite all the bad press surrounding the actress, especially after she ended up losing the defamation trial to Johnny Depp.
Has the Johnny Depp trial ruined Heard’s career?

It’s going to be very interesting to see how this story ends up developing and also where Heard’s career goes from this point onwards. So much has been written about Heard and what’s going to happen next. All we need to do is wait and see.
