Fans of Robert Rodriguez’s 2019 film Alita: Battle Angel have taken to social media to push Disney top get the sequel made.
So, I went on Twitter today to see what was happening and that’s when I discovered that people are calling for the Alita: Battle Angel sequel to be made.
The first movie was directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron.
That’s a pretty good team.
The film was made by 20th Century Fox, however, it’s now with Disney after they acquired the movie studio.
There has been talk of a sequel or TV series follow-up ever since, yet it seems as though that might not happen.
This has caused the film’s fans – who call themselves ‘The Alita Army’ – to take to Twitter to demand Disney gets the sequel made.

If Disney isn’t going ahead with an #AlitaSequel, snatch it up as soon as you can. pic.twitter.com/4YxbiFl84Z— Bostitch (@Bostitch42) July 23, 2020

Alita is unique as a protagonist and I don't use that word lightly. She is indeed one of a kind. Her closest point of comparison is probably Wonder Woman, but even then, what makes them different stands out more than what makes them the same.#AlitaSequel pic.twitter.com/vLsK9LmUQt

We need an #AlitaSequel cause who wouldn’t want to see more motorball on the big screen? pic.twitter.com/55C3gwYRyY

Now, I will admit that I wasn’t the biggest fan of the movie.
I felt it was a bit of a mess, yet there was so much potential there.
The film also looked incredible.
One of the things fans really seem to want to see is more of the ‘Motorball’ sport, which would be fun.
I think a TV series follow-up would be the best way to go.
Disney could make it for Disney Plus, much like what they’re doing with the Percy Jackson series.
