The long-anticipated Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 has recently released a trailer revealing the release date. We only have to wait a few months.
News about the game has been very few and far in-between. It’s evident that Remedy doesn’t want to reveal too much until it’s ready. It was only first announced back in December 2021 that the game even existed.
The first game came out back in 2010, exclusively for the Xbox360. It came out on PC two years after. But it was only in October 2021 that the remaster of the game was released on the new consoles, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch a year later.
For a while, many have thought that the project has been in limbo as the company made Quantum Break and Control. Control, however, showed that it existed in the same universe as Alan Wake, prompting a lot of hype that a sequel could actually happen.
When Alan Wake 2 was announced, many asked… when?

Yup, we only need to wait a few months now until it’s released.
Alan Wake 2 is set 13 years after the events of the first game. In the first game, Alan Wake, a best-selling thriller novelist, tries to save his wife, Alice, from a dark force known as the Dark Presence. However, he is unsuccessful, and he is trapped in an alternate dimension known as the Dark Place.
In Alan Wake 2, Alan is still trapped in the Dark Place. He is trying to find a way to return to the real world. He is also being helped by a new character, Saga Anderson. Anderson is an FBI agent who has a reputation for solving impossible cases. She comes to Bright Falls to investigate a string of ritualistic murders, which leads her to discovering Alan Wake.

Remedy has said that Alan Wake 2 will be a bit different from the first game. The first game was an action-adventure game which had horror elements built into the story. Alan Wake 2 is more of a survival horror game. This means that the game will be more focused on horror and that resources will be more scarce.
The trailer for Alan Wake 2 also implied that we would be using two characters this time around. We’ll be switching between Alan Wake and Saga Anderson. Although we don’t know yet if switching characters can be done anytime or it is based on the story you are following.
The game will feature three locations: the small town of Bright Falls, the forest surrounding Cauldron Lake, and the run-down town of Watery. Also, the game will feature the Dark Place, which is where Alan Wake has been trapped for so long.
Alan Wake 2 is set to release on PC, PlayStation 5 and on the Xbox Series S/X consoles this October.
