Aaron Taylor-Johnson Has ‘Positive’ James Bond Meeting

It’s been revealed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has had a meeting with the James Bond movie producers, and it reportedly went “very well”. This news comes to us via Matthew Belloni.

Belloni was formerly the editor of The Hollywood Reporter, and he now works for Puck (via Gaming Bible). The outlet has broken quite a few big stories over the past few months, and this isn’t the first time we’ve heard reports that the Bond producers were looking at Taylor-Johnson for 007.

We recently heard reports that Taylor-Johnson, who’s going to be starring in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Kraven The Hunter movie, had a ‘secret audition’ for James Bond, and the producers were really impressed with what they saw. It seems as though this story has developed even further as they are now taking sit-down meetings with the actor about the role.

Here’s what Matthew Belloni had to say about Taylor-Johnson’s recent meeting with Bond producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson:

He [Aaron Taylor-Johnson] sat with producer Barbara Broccoli, and the meeting went well, per sources. But while Taylor-Johnson fits the bill – great actor, British, fits the younger direction the Broccolis want to go, accomplished but not particularly famous – he’s about to be a much bigger star. If Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff Kraven the Hunter or Universal’s Ryan Gosling two-hander The Fall Guy works, Taylor-Johnson might end up, ironically, too famous to take on Bond.

There have been a lot of names tied to the Bond role. Fans have been calling for the likes of Henry Cavill to be cast in the role. There have also been calls for the likes of Idris Elba and Tom Hardy to be cast in the role.

However, most of the actors that are currently ‘in the running’ to play Bond after Daniel Craig are a little bit too old to play the role for a serious amount of time. Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be the perfect age for what the producers are looking for.

They have already said that they want to cast an actor who’s in his thirties. I also think they might want someone very different from Craig’s take on the character.

Taylor-Johnson is an actor who’s portrayed military characters in the past, and he has done it very well. He was in Tenet in which he played a military commander. He was also in Godzilla in which he portrayed a military man.

I recently saw him in Bullet Train, and I kind of think that he stole the show in that movie. He’s a brilliant actor and has shown that time and time again. We’re just going to have to wait and see who the producers end up going for.

However, I truly believe that they must think that they are onto a winner with Taylor-Johnson. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they end up casting him in the role.

As for Taylor-Johnson’s next project, Kraven the Hunter is slated for a release on October 6th, 2023. The film is currently in post-production. It’s going to be interesting to see how that movie ends up doing at the box office and with critics.
