A Monarch Series Is Rumoured To Be In Development At HBO Max

It’s being rumoured that a Monarch series is in development for HBO Max and this will be set in the Godzilla Vs Kong universe, which sounds pretty fun to me. This rumour comes to us from FandomWire.

Now, there has been talk of Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max wanting to do something pretty huge with this Monsters universe, and it really looks like they’re doing just that.

We’ve already had Gareth Edwards’ incredible Godzilla film, and that was then followed up with the pretty fun Kong: Skull Island and the not-so-good Godzilla: King Of The Monsters. We’re about to see Godzilla Vs Kong which judging by its trailer looks epic.

However, you know what they say, you should never judge a movie by its trailer. Hopefully, however, the movie will be as good as advertised and we’ll all be wanting more from this world.

Well, it looks like HBO Max and Warner Bros. are prepared to give us more in the form of a Monarch series, which actually sounds like a pretty interesting idea to me. That said, the human characters in the movies have been their Achilles heel.

The human characters, apart from the in the first and second films, have been rather lacking so far in the Godzilla and Kong films. The movies were trying to make the human characters more important and fans of the franchise just weren’t interested in that.

We’ll have to wait and see how they manage to make them more interesting in the rumoured series because if they get the human characters wrong in the show, then it will be a huge dud. They’ll also have limited budget for the monsters, so they won’t be able to rely on big monster fights in the show.
